THE AROOSTOOK REVIEW
The Aroostook Review
at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, seeks email submissions of poetry, fiction and non-fiction. Present bio in the text body of the email and submission as an attachment in the Word .doc or .txt format. See the above link for more complete submission information.

THE AUROREAN
Encircle Publications

seeks inspirational (not religious; not sentimental), positive poems; focus on the seasons, mostly free-verse. Haiku welcome and well-done humor. Publishing most familiar small-press names to first-timers. 

Professionally printed; perfect-bound, now biannual publication, October and April.

Deadlines: August 15 and February 15.

Acknowledges submissions and sends proofs. Asks one-time rights only. Simultaneous submissions and previously published poems OK if noted.  Guidelines available with SASE. No e-mail submissions. Submissions must be accompanied by SASE. Cover letter suggested. Pays 2 copies per poem published (up to five per issue). Featured Poet receives 10 copies and one-year subscription.

Encircle includes book design, the Unrorean broadside and poetry workshops as well as The Aurorean.

BELOIT POETRY REVIEW
Beloit Poetry Review

is a respected international literary print magazine that has been published without interruption since 1950. It was originally established at Beloit College, but now is based in Maine and edited by John Rosenwald and Lee Sharkey. The BPJ has published many leading American poets.
BPJ is looking for poetry that “knocks the oomph out of the status quo.” The editors prefer no particular forms or lengths or subjects and are always watching for new poets, fresh insights, live language. The Chad Walsh Poetry Award, $3000 in 2004, goes to the author of the poem or group of poems that editors judge to be the strongest in each year.

A year’s subscription (4 issues) is $18; sample copy, $5. Orders, queries, and submissions should be sent to:

THE CAFE REVIEW
The Cafe Review

is a quarterly print poetry review from Portland which publishes new strong voices in yet presents the works of well respected poets.

Submissions should be sent only by snail mail with SASE (stamped and self-addressed envelope), for acceptance or return of manuscript. Send only three poems of any length, with a one dollar ($1.00) reading fee, which is put into the production of the Review.

is a poetry journal that focuses on the literature of editors themselves but also accepts work from underground poets. 'eye' is released whenever enough quality poems have been amassed and aims for 30 unique voices per issue. It has a full color cover featuring original artwork. Moé pi toé
Moe pi toe

is the pioneering online literary publication of the Franco-American Women's Institute of Maine. The journal publishes poetry, non-fiction, fiction and news of the Franco-American past and present. Bilingual: English and French.

Rhea Cote Robbins. author of the acclaimed Wednesday's Child, founder and Executive Director of the Franco-American Women's Institute, (which has a stong online presence), and instructor at the University of Maine, edits Moe pi toe.

OFF THE COAST

Following 13 years of successful publication under the editorship of George and Arlene Van Deventer, the poetry journal Off the Coast has found a new home in Downeast Maine with Valerie Lawson and Michael Brown, the new editors and publishers. OTC is accepting submissions of poetry (any subject or style, e-mail submissions preferred, postal submissions OK with SASE), graphics, and books for review (books only, no chapbooks). Subscriptions for the remaining two issues in 2008 and the anticipated four issues in 2009 are $50. Single issue: $10.

PUCKERBRUSH REVIEW

is a print-only literary journal edited and published since 1978 by Constance Hunting, the leader of Maine Letters, professor of English at University of Maine in Orono, author of many poetry books. Now edited by Sandy Phippen. PR publishes quality poetry, short stories, literary essays and reviews. Does not want to see "confessional, religious, sentimental, dull, incompetent, derivative" poetry. Submit 5 poems with SASE. Before submitting, purchase the journal. WT Chronicles uses links/references/resources. We do not claim copyright. The zines are distributed for free in Portland (and elsewhere when we can manage it) and on the web (paper circulation of each issue is probably about 350).
