is a respected international literary print magazine that has been published without interruption since 1950. It was originally established at Beloit College, but now is based in Maine and edited by John Rosenwald and Lee Sharkey. The BPJ has published many leading American poets. BPJ is looking for poetry that knocks the oomph out of the status quo. The editors prefer no particular forms or lengths or subjects and are always watching for new poets, fresh insights, live language. The Chad Walsh Poetry Award, $3000 in 2004, goes to the author of the poem or group of poems that editors judge to be the strongest in each year.
